Position Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n

At our company, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. On some days, you may be working hands-on in the lab conducting experiments or collaborating on innovative developments. On other days, you’ll support the production team in optimizing processes or assist the purchasing department in qualifying new suppliers.<\/p>\n

Position reports to: PMO<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Collaborate in the design and development of prototype laser and electro-optical systems.<\/li>\n
  • Design and integrate optical and electro-optical test setups to support system validation.<\/li>\n
  • Independently conduct tests on electro-optic design concepts, analyze data, and report findings.<\/li>\n
  • Support the design and debugging of test fixtures and build fixturing.<\/li>\n
  • Develop and document build and test procedures, ensuring clear, repeatable processes.<\/li>\n
  • Provide regular progress updates and manage timelines across multiple projects.<\/li>\n
  • Assist the purchasing department in selecting suppliers and qualifying components.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with the Production team to resolve issues related to build processes, yield, and consistency.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with the Quality team to troubleshoot design and production issues, perform failure analysis, and implement customer feedback for design improvements.<\/li>\n
  • Work with Sales in the proposal process and act as a technical expert in customer interactions.<\/li>\n
  • Occasional travel for project development and customer engagement.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare technical papers and content in collaboration with the communications department for dissemination.<\/li>\n
  • Stay up to date with cutting-edge technologies and industry advancements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Desired technical skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Physics, Optics or related scientific\/technical area<\/li>\n
    • One year of hands-on industry or laboratory experience with assembly, alignment, test, and troubleshooting of lasers, electro-optical systems, and optical setups.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of general laser principles including diode lasers and DPSS laser technology.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of free-space beam propagation and shaping using reflective and refractive elements, acousto-optics, and electro-optics.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to independently do comprehensive in-lab hands-on experimentation and data analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Other requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Performs all other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with Laser and optical design and modelling basic principles is a plus.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with Laser Safety Protocols is a plus.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with project management principles.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with common industry software tools such as Zemax, Excel, BeamGage, LabVIEW and SolidWorks is a plus.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with Design for Reliability including process development is a plus.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with Industrialization of products including qualification protocols is a plus.<\/li>\n
      • Availability to work flexible time<\/li>\n
      • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.<\/li>\n
      • Good communication skills.<\/li>\n
      • Being a team-player with good adaption to a changing environment.<\/li>\n
